But how does this cycle work in everyday teaching and teacher development environments? Is the cycle effective at every stage of development, in every context, so that teachers are really able to build on their existing skills or even change their classroom practice? Is the ability to reflect taken too much for granted? What personal, social and cultural factors influence the behaviour of observers, teachers and learners during an observation? This signature event will explore the tensions between what is generally considered to be best practice and reality.
